"Close Relationship" between the Properties of Diamond Composite and the Size of Powder
CLICKS:1185
A single diamond crystal is very hard and has high wear resistance and thermal stability, but if different crystals are together, they will have different properties with different crystal faces. In the sintering process of diamond composite sheet, all the crystal faces of diamond powder are arranged in any direction, so from the macroscopic direction, sintered diamond powder is isotropic, so the impact resistance strength of diamond composite sheet is improved.
In the production of diamond composite sheet, it can be realized by mixing diamond powder with different average particle size and statistical distribution gradation number. The properties of diamond composite can be adjusted by adjusting the particle size and grading composition of diamond powder. One aspect is that the smaller the grain size of sintered body, the better the wear resistance of sintered body, of course, this is at the cost of sacrificing part of the impact toughness of diamond composite sheet. If the opposite method is adopted, that is, when the diamond powder formula is coarse-grained, the experimental results show that when the average particle size is increased to 48μm or above, the impact toughness of the diamond composite sheet is not significantly improved.
