Performance analysis of diamond composite sheet

CLICKS:1142

The reason why diamond composite sheet is so widely used in the current industrial society is mainly because diamond composite sheet has incomparable superior performance of other materials. Today, we will analyze the superior performance of diamond composite:

First, diamond composite has high hardness and wear resistance (wear ratio). The hardness of diamond composite is up to about 10 000 HV, which is the hardest man-made material in the world at present, much higher than the hardness of cemented carbide and engineering ceramics. Because of its high hardness and isotropy, it has excellent wear resistance. Generally, wear ratio is used to reflect the wear resistance of composite pieces. In the middle of 1980s to 1990s, the wear ratio of composite pieces is 40 ~ 60 thousand (overseas is 80~ 120 thousand). From the mid-1990s to the present, the wear ratio of composite pieces is 80 ~ 300 thousand (foreign 100 ~ 500 thousand).

Secondly, the diamond composite has thermal stability. The thermal stability of diamond composite chip determines its application range. The thermal stability of diamond composite chip is heat resistance, which is one of the important performance indexes to measure PDC quality, as well as its strength and wear ratio. Heat stability refers to the stability of the chemical properties of the polycrystalline layer (the degree of inking of diamond), the change of macroscopic mechanical properties and the influence on the bonding firmness of the composite layer interface after being heated to a certain temperature in the atmospheric environment (in the presence of oxygen). Thermal stability changes after 750 ℃ sintering, some domestic factory product performance for the abrasion ratio by 5% ~ 20%, the impact toughness changed little, abrasion parts manufacturers than drop, impact resistant performance degradation, it has to do with the formulation and process adopted by the different related, foreign abrasion ratio and impact toughness of PDC little change before and after sintering.

And the diamond composite has impact toughness. As a cutting tool, diamond composite is widely used in oil and gas drilling. In the process of drilling, due to the combined action of axial force and horizontal cutting force, friction between drilling tool and hole wall, bending of drill string, unbalance of hole bottom and residual rock powder, drilling rig vibration and other factors, the diamond composite chip on the drill bit is subjected to great impact force. The impact resistance of diamond composite sheet reflects the toughness and bond strength of the composite sheet, which is a comprehensive index and the key to determine its use effect. The impact toughness of the composite is 100-200 J(200-300 J abroad) in the 1980s to the mid-1990s, and 200-400 J(more than 400 J abroad) from the mid-1990s to the present.

The above points are the superior performance of the diamond composite sheet, which is also the reason why the diamond composite sheet is widely used in the industrial society.
